With the approval this week of a bond referendum in Larimore attention turns to readying bids for a new gymnasium project at the elementary school.
Larimore Superintendent Steve Swiontek says 64% of voters said “yes” to the $3 million dollar bond. Swiotek says the gym plus other school improvements pushed the final bill closer to $4 million.
Swiotek says they hope to begin construction in the spring. “We are hoping to be able to bid by the end of January or early February and start digging as soon as the frost gets out of the ground. The goal is to walk into that facility in September 2023.”
The bond issue will cost the owner of a $100,000 dollar home around $52 dollars annually.
The Larimore school board will canvass the election results during a November 29th meeting.
