The East Grand Forks council took the first step towards annexing 22 acres of land near Highway 2 and County Road 17. R-J Zavoral is proposing to locate an asphalt plant on the property.
As part of the move the city would also establish zoning on the parcel which is being proposed for General Industrial. The council directed the city attorney to continue the annexation process.
The council will hold a public hearing on the petition after a 30 day public notice.
