The Grand Forks Airport is expected to be a busy place with travelers hopping flights to Nashville to watch the Hall of Fame hockey game.
Extra passengers are expected to move through the gates all week long with Thursday being the peak day for boardings.
Airport Executive Director Ryan Riesinger says in addition to the regular flights nine charter flights have been added to the schedule. “The Bridgestone Arena I believe has around 17,000 seats. The last I heard there were about 10,000 of those seats that were sold to Grand Forks residents.”
Riesinger says the GFK is trying to build some fun into fans flying out of Grand Forks. “In addition to decorations we will be having giveaways for passengers going on those flights.”
Only a handful of tickets remain as UND battles Penn State at the Bridgestone Arena on Saturday night.
