
The North Dakota Department of Commerce has agreed to fund five projects to the tune of one-million dollars through the 2021 Tourism Planning Grant.
The money – appropriated by the legislature – is intended to support projects that would attract visitors and retain them for at least four to six hours – or longer.
The Center for Exploration project in Grand Forks was awarded $100,000 dollars for a comprehensive plan for the development of a children’s museum.
The Bison World project in Jamestown received the largest award at $400,000 dollars. The theme park project will transform 30 acres of unused land belonging to the North Dakota State Hospital into a tourism gateway.
The Missouri Riverfront Revitalization plans receives $250,000…International Peace Garden $100,000…and Medora $150,000 dollars.
There were eighteen projects that completed the application process for the grant dollars.
