A Ponsford (MN) man has been sentenced to over eight years in jail for the cinderblock attack of a man on the White Earth Indian Reservation.
23-year old Wesley Warren was found guilty after a four day jury trial on one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Authorities say Warren got into a physical altercation with another man in June of last year. After knocking the individual out – Warren picked up a 42 pound cinderblock and dropped it on the victim’s head.
As a result of the assault the victim was hospitalized for several weeks due to brain trauma and was later transferred to a long-term care facility.
