Future of GFAFB discussed at briefing

Leadership and partnerships were among the themes stressed during a joint meeting of the Grand Forks City Council and County Commission last night to discuss the status of the G-F-A-F-B.

Air Force Col. Timothy Curry says the Grand Forks Base continues to have three main priorities:  airmen…mission…and the future.  “We have the Space Development Agency…that operation…and all the work going on at Grand Sky and we get to leverage that.”

Lt. General “Rusty” Findley was among the panel of consultants in attendance for the update.  Findley says the community has supported every mission that has come to the GFAFB over the years – and a new one is about to begin.  “Construction is going to start coming up…with construction some the details there…and everyone would like to have those details…our caution is be patient.”

Col. Curry added there have been some changes – but there’s goodness in that.
