The Grand Forks County Commission will hold a special meeting next Monday to discuss a request by Grand Forks for three million dollars to help fund wastewater treatment improvements.
The city is planning to tap $6.8 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to jumpstart a $45 million dollar investment in the coming years. If the county chips in $3 million In ARPA funding it would push the down payment to $9.8 million dollars.
Grand Forks leaders say not only does the wastewater plant need a facelift – but the city needs more capacity for future economic development opportunities.
