A Grand Forks man charged with attempted murder in a Sunday stabbing incident made his initial court appearance today (Tue).
Twenty-eight-year-old Hassan Mohamed Hussein is accused of stabbing 20-year-old John Bakizuwabo of Grand Forks on the 2800 block of South 34th Street.
Police say Bakizuwabo was transported to Altru with a puncture wound to his torso.
Hussein was later found and arrested.
Hussein’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 20.
The attempted murder charge is a Class A felony in North Dakota. If convicted, Hussein faces up to 20 years in prison.
