A new hospital could be in the works for Rugby (ND). U. S. Senator John Hoeven met with community leaders and board members with the Heart of American Medical Center. HAMC currently operates a hospital…three clinics…and a long-term care facility – with many the buildings dating back to the 1940’s.
Senator Hoeven says the age of the facilities…repairs…and updates have become increasingly cost-prohibitive. As a result HAMC is pursuing a plan to construct a new hospital, clinic and long-term care facility at an estimated cost of about $50 million dollars.
In a press release Hoeven says he is working to support HAMC as it applies for loan and grant assistance through USDA Rural Development.
