
Storms rushed through portions of the Red River Valley last night. Strong winds and heavy rain prompted Severe Thunderstorm – and even a Tornado Warning – for Grand Forks County. A wind gust of 69 mph was clocked at the Grand Forks Airport. Several tree limbs came down. Minor street flooding was reported as well. One inch hail fell near Langdon and Walhalla – golf ball hail landed near Red Willow Lake in Griggs County. At one point around 26-hundred customers of Xcel Energy were without power in Grand Forks. Officially the NWS office in Grand Forks picked up 1.6 inches of rain.
