A man who spent time in federal prison after pipe bombs were found at his hunting cabin near Oklee in northwestern Minnesota is wanted for a murder in rural Pennington County. The homicide occurred Friday.

A federal arrest warrant has been issued for 44-year-old Erik Reinbold. Reinbold is considered dangerous and possibly armed. In late 2018, a federal jury in Fergus Falls found Reinbold guilty on the explosive charges. He was given a five-year prison sentence. During the investigation, a notebook was found detailing how to survive in the wilderness, build bombs and identify enemies.

Prior to that, Reinbold pleaded guilty in a 2015 case where he rammed his pickup into a car with his wife and children inside.

Anyone with information on Reinbold should call the sheriff’s office in Thief River Falls at 218-681-6161.
