The reconstruction of a stretch of Columba Road north of the overpass will impact homeowners several blocks away over the next week. The city is taking advantage of having the road torn up by replacing an old force main in the area.
In anticipation of the force main work a temporary wastewater line has been laid along North 25th Street from University Avenue to 10th Avenue North. Crews have also placed temporary road ramps at several intersections to protect the line. The force main project should be completed by June 10th.
The nearly six-million dollar reconstruction of Columbia Road includes new pavement…sidewalks…traffic signals and upgrades to the pedestrian underpass.
