The Grand Forks Fire Department is investigating an afternoon house fire on the city’s north side. Crews were called to 3532 10th Avenue North around 2:00 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene smoke was visible from both the front and side doors of the home.
First responders administered CPR to a dog that was located inside the home. Fire damage was contained to the kitchen with smoke damage throughout the main floor and is estimated at over $50,000. The occupants were displaced from their home due to the fire.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck, and one command vehicle with seventeen personnel. Two cats were rescued from the structure but the dog did die as a result of the fire.
