(KNOX) – A judge on Monday lowered the bond for one of three defendants in a drug trafficking case in Grand Forks.

31-year-old Darnell Patterson has been charged with two Class A felonies for having cocaine with the intent to distribute it, and he’s also been charged with a Class C felony for tampering with evidence. Patterson waived his initial court appearance Monday and has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. His bond was decreased from $50,000 to $40,000. Judge Theodore Sandberg granted lowering his bond.

Patterson is one of three defendants in this case. He was arrested along with 37-year-old Omar Williams and 38-year-old Angelo Matthews in September when law enforcement discovered 241.3 grams of cocaine, as well as other drug paraphernalia when searching Williams’ vehicle and residence. Williams was in his car, and Patterson and Matthews were simultaneously at his apartment.

Patterson and Williams had previously pursued having their bonds lower, but those requests were denied. Williams did have his bond changed to a L Bond of $50,000.
