(KNOX) – The Red River Regional Council announced it has received a multi million dollar grant and has made a partnership with the Bush Foundation. The announcement was made at the State of Region 4 event, as an exact number of funding wasn’t provided, but it is a five year partnership.

The Regional Council and the Red River Community Housing Development Organization are receiving the funding in order to help combat both housing and workforce issues in rural areas.

The Bush Foundation is a private charitable organization that is based in St.Paul and it operates independently. It was created in 1953 by Archibald and Edith Bush.

The organization also awards grants to individual regional leaders, and provides community prizes and partnerships with local communities.
