(KNOX) – A 29-year-old man has been charged as University of North Dakota police say he threatened to “shoot up” a fraternity house last Sunday. He also is accused of assaulting a member of the frat.
Brentton McCullough is charged with two Class C felonies for terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge for tampering with physical evidence and for illegally having possession of drug supplies.
Campus police were sent to the fraternity house at around 2:26 am for a report of having a gun and making threats. Police say McCullough was in front of the fraternity house and was pointed out by three frat members that were in the confrontation.
McCullough apparently told officers he walked onto the property and tried to go into the house, and that those in the house told him to leave.
Court documents say that McCullough grabbed one member by the neck when they tried to get him to leave. Police say that McCullough then reached into his backpack and threatened to shoot the house members, but no firearm was discovered. McCullough consented to officers searching his backpack and found a glass pipe with marijuana residue.
McCullough was then arrested and booked into the Grand Forks County Jail.
