(KNOX) – A Grand Forks bus driver who was suspended for cursing at students has been fired. The bus driver has not been identified, but he was employed by Valley Bus and was on route to Viking and Ben Franklin elementary schools, which teaches students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Valley Bus said last Friday in a news release that it completed an investigation and that the driver’s conduct was unacceptable.
One parent apparently shared a video that their child recorded of the driver saying the children are allowed to treat him like (expletive), but he can’t treat them like that. He also apparently called a child a brat.
The Grand Forks School District does not own the buses, and Valley Bus hires the drivers. The drivers go through background checks like all district employees.
The district hired Valley Bus in 2023 after it offered a lower bid than the district’s former transportation partner Dietrich Bus Service.
