(KNOX/WCCO/Learfield) –The DFL and GOP Nominees for this year’s Minnesota Governor’s and U.S. Senate Races made appearances at the state fair. The fair ended yesterday, and the nominees for each party made their pitch to voters. Republican Gubernatorial Nominee and Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth is trailing in the polls to DFL Nominee and U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar. The general election is on November 3rd, but residents can start absentee voting on Friday, September 18th, which is 46 days before Election Day.
Voters can cast an absentee ballot in person at designated locations or request a mailed ballot. Minnesota does not require voters to provide a reason for voting absentee. Absentee ballots must be received by Election Day to be counted.
