(KNOX) –Several military contractors presented their equipment on Thursday at GrandSky to military representatives from all around the country.
The U.S. Department of Defense hosted the event as part of its T-REX program. T-REX stands for technology, readiness, and experimentation. Several department officials as well as U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer were in attendance.
Dozens of vendors showed a wide range of items, such as fully autonomous drones and new first aid equipment. Others also displayed mobile power centers and counter unmanned aircraft systems.
Hoeven believes that T-REX is designed to go around acquisition timeframes that are outdated. He also thinks that it will let vendors present technology directly to the Department of Defense, and that it can be tested right away.
