(KNOX) –A 19-year-old driver and 49-year-old victim who were involved in a fatal crash last Saturday in Cass County have been identified. Cornelio Vasquez IV of Grand Forks was going 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, when he was trying to flee a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper.
Vasquez was driving in a BMW when he struck a Honda Accord that was driven by Ian Frye of Christine. Frye died at the scene and Vasquez is being investigated for charges.
There were two juveniles with Vasquez in the BMW , and all three of them were taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries. The names of the juveniles involved will not be released because of state law.
