(KNOX) – The East Grand Forks Heritage Days will be happening this Saturday and Sunday at Heritage Village.
There will be musicians performing who will perform different types of music. The artists will play and sing music that has an influence of French Canadian, Celtic, Norwegian and Appalachian culture.
On Saturday, August 8th:
East Grand Forks historian and bagpiper Jeremy Kingsbury will perform at 1pm. He plays several types of small pipes of Scottish, French and Irish tradition.
Bob and Gail Johnson from rural Fergus Falls, Minnesota will play at 2pm. They will perform songs and tunes from Ireland and Appalachia. They will use the guitar, harmonica, recorder, harp and other instruments.
Vidar Skrede from Appleton, Wisconsin will perform at 3pm. He is a native Norwegian who recently became a U.S. citizen. He will perform folk music on guitar, mandolin and fiddles, as well as the Hardanger fiddle
On Sunday, August 9th:
The O’Neil Family Band will perform at noon. They will be playing French Canadian, Celtic and Appalachian tunes and songs. They will use the fiddle, guitar, banjo and concertina. They will also have a step dance performance.
Vidar Skrede will perform Norwegian folk music at 1pm
Bob and Gail Johnson will perform Celtic and Appalachian music at 2pm.
Jeremy Kingsbury will play the bagpipes at 3pm.
