(NewsDakota.com) – South Central Transit says it will no longer be certified to provide Medicaid and Medicaid waiver transportation services beginning Aug. 4, 2026, affecting riders across Barnes, LaMoure, Foster, Logan, McIntosh, Griggs, Emmons, Nelson, rural Grand Forks, Ramsey, Eddy and Stutsman counties.
South Central Adult Services Director Pat Hansen said the change will impact many families in eastern North Dakota who rely on the service.
Families are being urged to contact their local legislators and ask the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services to rescind or reverse new regulations for individual drivers.
Medicaid and waiver clients seeking transportation are advised to contact the Human Service Zone office in their area for updated options, email Medicaid at applyforhelp@nd.gov., or call North Dakota Medicaid at 1-866-614-6005 or 1-701-328-1000 for help finding transportation.
