Underwood, Minnesota Teacher Forced To Give Up Teaching License

(KNOX/Valley News Live) –An Ottertail County teacher will give up his license and pay restitution after hurting a student. 49-year-old Jason Rogers had been a teacher in Underwood, Minnesota. He stepped on a student’s back during a 2025 lockdown drill and he refused to stop. He pleaded guilty to three gross misdemeanor counts of malicious punishment of a child and was sentenced to two years probation. If he violates the probation, the court can convict him.

Rogers must surrender his teaching license across the U.S.. He also needs to complete an anger management assessment, perform 90 hours of community service, and write letters of apology to each victim. He was also ordered to pay $2,250 in fines and fees.
