(KNOX/KVRR) –A domestic assault offender on the Red Lake Reservation, who is a repeat offender, has been sentenced to over three years in prison.
Chief U.S. District Judge Eric Tostrud sentenced 46-year-old Allen Cloud of Red Lake to 41 months in prison.
Cloud had pleaded guilty last December to one count of domestic assault by a habitual offender resulting in substantial bodily harm. Court records show that he hit his victim with a piece of concrete when she tried to flee.
Cloud has had at least five Tribal Court convictions for domestic violence behavior and stalking of the same victim.
