(KNOX) –UND football player Jonnie Wiltshire has been given a temporary restraining order in his eligibility case for this upcoming season. The temporary restraining order was approved by a Grand Forks County District Court Judge last Thursday.
Court documents say the NCAA is temporarily restrained from denying Wiltshire’s eligibility waiver request that was submitted by UND. The NCAA is also prevented from not allowing Wiltshire to practice and compete with the team while the restraining order is pending.
Court documents also say that Wiltshire will not be allowed to play this upcoming season if he doesn’t participate in fall camp. Players are supposed to report to camp tomorrow and the first practice is Wednesday.
A hearing on the motion for preliminary injunction will happen at the Grand Forks County Courthouse on August 14th at 1:30pm.
On top of Wiltshire trying to receiving an eligibility waiver, another football player trying to accomplish the same thing. Avery Scott is also trying to receive an eligibility waiver to play this upcoming season. The status of his case is currently not known.
The Fighting Hawks football team starts the 2026 season on August 27 when they host Long Island University at the Alerus Center.
