(NewsDakota.com) – Candidates for several key statewide offices will meet with voters in Valley City on Saturday, July 25, at a public forum hosted by the District 24 Democratic-Nonpartisan League.
The event is set for 2 p.m. at Sabir’s Restaurant, 338 Winter Show Road, according to district chair Linda Brastrup Johnson. She said the gathering is designed to give residents a chance to share concerns directly with candidates and ask questions about issues facing North Dakota.
Dem-NPL candidates scheduled to attend include Trygve Hammer, running for the U.S. House; Vern Thompson, candidate for North Dakota agriculture commissioner; Tim Lamb, candidate for North Dakota attorney general; and Scot Kelsh, candidate for the North Dakota Public Service Commission. Each will offer brief remarks and take questions from the audience.
Light snacks, water and soda will be provided. Brastrup Johnson said all community members are encouraged to attend for an afternoon focused on conversation, community and civic engagement.
Earlier in the day, the candidates plan to visit several Valley City neighborhoods, going door-to-door to greet residents and hear their concerns, she said.
