Grand Forks City Council Approves Second Reading Of Off-Street Parking Ordinance, Swears In Council Members

(KNOX) – The Grand Forks City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance that would change off-street parking regulations. The ordinance would reduce the amount of off-street parking that developers are required to provide.

This includes minimum requirements that vary for different types of residences. The ordinance would have allowed city staff to approve additional reductions of up to 30 percent and that has been changed to up to 10 percent. The vote passed 6-1, with City Council Member Rebecca Osowski voting against the measure.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, the oaths of office were administered to council members Rebecca Osowski, Andrea Salentini and Council President Dana Sande. Kerry Rosenquist was also sworn in as municipal judge. 

The city appointed Dan Gaustad as city attorney, while Dana Sande was elected as president of the City Council and Danny Weigel was elected as vice president.
