(KNOX) – The man who pleaded guilty to murdering former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband is scheduled to return to Hennepin County District Court in August for a hearing in his state criminal case.
58-year-old Vance Boelter will appear in state court, after his scheduled sentence in Federal Court on July 23.
Federal prosecutors are seeking two consecutive life sentences plus 40 years. They will not seek the death penalty.
