(KNOX/KX News) – A 67-year-old from Minot has died in a plane crash near Hazen in Mercer County.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 1960 Piper airplane took off from Mercer County Regional Airport at about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday. The aircraft was then seen trying to return to the runway, but it lost altitude and crashed into the ground.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash. The plane was a Piper PA-24.
