
(GF Spitfires) – GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Grand Forks Spitfires are excited to announce that Opening Night on Tuesday, June 9, will conclude with a spectacular postgame fireworks show powered by Generous Jerry’s Fireworks.
The inaugural home opener is already shaping up to be one of the biggest nights of the summer in Grand Forks, and now fans will have even more to celebrate. Following the final out, the skies above Albrecht Field will light up with a fireworks spectacular, providing the perfect ending to a historic evening as the Spitfires officially begin their first season in franchise history.
Fans attending Opening Night will witness the first home game in Grand Forks Spitfires history, special pregame ceremonies, the highly anticipated reveal of the team’s official mascot, interactive family-friendly entertainment throughout the ballpark, and a memorable fireworks display that will kick off a summer full of unforgettable moments.
The Spitfires will take on the Minot Honeybees at 7:35 p.m., with gates opening at 6:05 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, soak in the atmosphere, and help make history as Northwoods League Softball officially arrives in Grand Forks.
“We wanted Opening Night to feel like a true celebration for our fans, sponsors, and the entire Grand Forks community,” said General Manager Roberto Lemus. “This is a historic moment for our organization, and adding fireworks creates an even bigger experience for everyone who joins us at the ballpark.”
Through a partnership with Generous Jerry’s Fireworks, the Spitfires are proud to bring fans three postgame fireworks spectaculars during the inaugural 2026 season. Opening Night on June 9 marks the first of those three exciting nights and sets the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable summer at Albrecht Field.

Fans attending Opening Night are encouraged to arrive early and plan ahead.
Parking is available in the parking garage located between University Avenue and 2nd Avenue, as well as along 2nd Avenue and surrounding streets near Albrecht Field.
Due to the anticipated Opening Night crowd, special pregame festivities, and postgame fireworks show, fans should allow extra time for parking and entry into the ballpark. Gates will open at 6:05 p.m., giving fans plenty of time to enjoy the festivities before first pitch at 7:35 p.m. With limited seating remaining, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets now and be part of one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Grand Forks.
