(KNOX) – East Grand Forks will soon launch a search for a new Fire Chief. Jeff Boushee plans to retire after 34 years of service to the city – including six as chief. His last day on the job will be June 25th.
The city council is expected to approve advertising the position for 30 days at next week’s meeting. City Administrator Reid Hurtunen told a council work session last night that if ads go out May 20th the earliest Civil Service interviews of candidates could begin is the week of July 6th.
A staff report says the salary range for the position would be between $99,710 and $137,78. It also recommends that Assistant Chief Paul Hansen be appointed the Interim Fire Chief until the position is filled.
