Spring Clean-Up Week On in Grand Forks

(KNOX) – A lot of Grand Forks homeowners spent the weekend cleaning out garages and attics in preparation for Spring Cleanup Week. (May 11-15)

Residents can place extra items out on berms and city crews will haul the trash away for free.  Grand Forks teams will follow the street maintenance schedule.  The city is asking that you leave at least four feet of space between items to be tossed and obstacles like trees and mailboxes.  There is no alley pickup.

The landfill will also have extended hours throughout the week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  On Saturday (5/16) the hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Last year city crews hauled away nearly 1.5 million pounds of stuff.  Residents also brought 82,460 pounds directly to the landfill.

Spring Cleanup in East Grand Forks will run May 18th – 22nd.
