(KNOX) – North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley is asking for patience from the public in the case of AI-generated, and real, explicit photos of minors circulated by students at area schools.
Wrigley says 65 victims have been identified, and 27 students have been referred to the juvenile court system. All involved were minors at the time of the incident.
Snapchat and other social media was used to create and distribute the photos. Law enforcement detained cell phones of a number of students, at times showing up at schools to conduct the searches.
Wrigley says the case has not been swept under the rug. He says that, due to those facing charges being juveniles at the time, little can be said by officials involved.
