(KNOX) – A man who tried to flee law enforcement in Walsh County now faces multiple charges.

A deputy with the Walsh County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a series of reckless driving complaints just before 10 p.m. Tuesday when he came in contact with the suspect.  Authorities say Darrell Rudnik made “evasive” moves by driving into a field and turning off the vehicle’s lights.

The deputy called the North Dakota Patrol and the North East Region UAS team in Grand Forks to assist in the search.  Rudnik was located in a tree row near Minto around 11:45 p.m.

He is charged with fleeing a peace officer…possession of methamphetamine…meth paraphernalia…and refusal to halt.  A further court appearance is set for May 11th.
