(KNOX) – The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash of a small plane that claimed the life of North Dakota Representative Liz Conmy.
The Beech F33A aircraft went down near Brooklyn Center (MN) shortly before noon on Saturday. Conmy and another person on the plane died.
In a social media post the North Dakota NPL Party stated that they are heartbroken and gutted by the loss of Representative Conmy. The statement went on to say that Conmy championed public education, the environment, and had a natural ability to make friendships across the political spectrum.
Governor Kelley Armstrong issued a written statement calling it a tragic loss and offering condolences to family, friends and fellow legislators. Armstrong directed all flags to be flown at half-staff on the day of Conmy’s interment.
Conmy had represented District 11 in the North Dakota House since 2022.
