Both teams are near the top of the league standings. Each has four wins in the league. Red River is unbeaten, while Central has two league losses.
Fargo Shanley enters the night in first place, recently drawing with West Fargo Sheyenne to earn their 13th league point. Red River defeated Sheyenne 5-0 earlier this year, and has yet to meet Shanley.
