
(KNOX) – Ten days into April, a grand total of two baseball games will have been played by the entire Eastern Dakota Conference membership.
All games for Thursday and Friday have been either cancelled or postponed due to weather and field conditions for Thursday and Friday. Grand Forks Central was to have played at Devils Lake Thursday, Red River had a date at Fargo Shanley.
Both the Knights and Roughriders will start their competitive seasons at the Border Battle in Sioux Falls, SD this weekend.
Of EDC teams, only Fargo North has played, currently 1-1 this season. Red River has delayed six games, doubleheaders at Minot and Shanley, along with a scheduled home date with West Fargo Sheyenne. Central has postponed four, doubleheaders at North and Devils Lake.
Due to an early Memorial Day, the EDC Tournament is a week early this year. The east region teams will have 36 total days, Sunday’s included, to complete their schedules until the East Region tournament begins May 19th.
