(KNOX) – Blackhawk Farms RE, LLP’s proposal for a conditional use permit to build an 8,511-head hog animal feeding operation in Grand Prairie Township has been approved by Barnes County.
Under the proposal, Pipestone Management would oversee the operation on behalf of the Bullerman and Karges family partnership.
There are concerns about the impact the facility could have on farms in the surrounding area.
The Barnes County Commission is scheduled to discuss the board’s recommendation at their meeting this week.
