Grand Forks Mission Names New Director

(KNOX) – The Northlands Rescue Mission in Grand Forks has named Elaina Wickman as the shelter’s new Executive Director.

Mrs. Wickman was appointed as Interim Director in October after the departure of Everett Jones. Wickman has more than 13 years of experience at Northlands Rescue Mission.

She started in the front office before transitioning to case manager and then to operations manager. Mrs. Wickman, who is a licensed social worker was a key figure in revamping the Mission’s programming in 2017.

As Executive Director, Mrs. Wickman plans to focus on strengthening the Mission’s core services. These include shelter, basic resources, and case management for people experiencing homelessness, as well as a food pantry for community members in need.
