Red River Hits the Road for EDC Openers

(KNOX) – Two different arenas will see Grand Forks Red River open their run through the basketball postseason tonight.

The Roughrider girls will play at Fargo Shanley in the opening round of the Eastern Dakota Conference tournament.  Red River enters with the fifth seed, Shanley has the fourth seed in the tournament.

Shanley finished the EDC season 10-6, the Riders finished 8-8.  Shanley won both matchups this season, winning in Grand Forks 68-59, and winning the regular season finale in Fargo 68-54.  Game time is set for 6 PM.

The Roughrider boys also enter their tournament seeded fifth, and will face West Fargo Sheyenne Tuesday.

Sheyenne finished the league season 11-5, while the Roughriders ended the season 7-9.  Sheyenne swept both ends of the season series, winning first in Grand Forks 80-72, and then winning in West Fargo 88-76.

Game time for boys play is set for 7:45 PM.
