(KNOX) – The North Dakota Department of Transportation is accepting public input on an Interstate 29 drainage project near Drayton. Four drainage crossings are tentatively planned to be replaced. Reported poor conditions include rusting, buckling and erosion. The state DOT says construction of the new culverts is planned for 2027 which depends heavily on funding.

According to the state DOT the project is anticipated to cost approximately $4 million, including expenses for traffic control as well as building and removing a temporary crossover.

Because the crossings are located on the interstate federal funding will likely cover most of the expenses, grants may be another route.
