(KNOX) – Lake Region State College has canceled their remaining women’s college hockey season with nine games remaining.
The team was 5-8 this season.
According to reports from the Devils Lake Journal, the school had recently parted ways with former head coach Sawyer Diseth, and ensuing transfers had lowered the team’s roster to a point where it was no longer feasible to field a team this season.
The school states that it is committed to continuing to offer women’s hockey in the future, and current head coach Brady Stein, who is also the men’s hockey coach at LRSC, is recruiting players for next year.
