(KNOX) – The National Weather Service in Grand Forks issued a summary on a tornado near the Dakota Magic Casino on the South Dakota-North Dakota border that touched down last Thursday.
It was a rope tornado and on the Fujita Scale it was an EF-1. It was on the ground for about mile-and-a-half and had a maximum width of 90 feet.
The National Weather Service Office in Grand Forks said it was a slow moving tornado that started in a field and tracked east-northeast into a grove of trees, snapping some off at the trunk, and then scouring through a corn field. The peak winds were estimated to be around 100 miles an hour.
There were no injuries or damage to any buildings.
