(KNOX) – A scoring drought reached three matches as Red River was shut out by Fargo Davies in an EDC soccer showdown Thursday.
Davies won a 2-0 decision over the Riders at Cushman Field. The loss dropped Red River to 1-2-1. After scoring six goals against Minot North in the season opener, the Riders have been shut out by Jamestown (0-0), Fargo South (3-0) and Davies.
Davies’ Melad Hematzada scored the first goal in the fourth minute of the match, and that held up until they recorded a second late in the match against a Red River defense that was taking risks to tie the game.
Red River faces Central in the first of the Cushman Cup series Tuesday night.
