(KNOX) – A goal in the sixth minute from Brady Kirkeby held up for 78 minutes, but not long enough for Grand Forks Central, as the Knights settled for a 1-1 draw with Fargo Shanley Tuesday night.
Darik Stevens capitalized on a Shanley free kick with a back-door header in the 79th minute to tie the game, giving each team a point in the EDC standings.
Rylan Dobrovolny, the All-State keeper for Central, was superb in preserving the tie, registering a handful of leaping saves, including two back-to-back from a Shanley corner near the end of the first half.
Central plays at Fargo North Thursday night.
