(KNOX) – The Northlands Rescue Mission will reopen its food pantry Tuesday, August 19th following an overwhelming community response to an urgent call for donations.

In less than a week, community members and local organizations donated an extraordinary 4500 pounds of food to restock pantry shelves. These donations will ensure that local individuals and families facing food insecurity can once again access nutritious meals.

“This is what happens when a community comes together,” said Everett Jones, Executive Director of Northlands Rescue Mission. “The generosity of our neighbors has not only filled our shelves but filled hearts with hope. You’ve shown that Grand Forks is strongest when we stand side by side to care for one another.”

The Mission emphasizes that the need for ongoing support remains. Pantry food can run low quickly. Recurring donations of food or money are critical to keeping resources available year-round.
