(KNOX) – The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency said that two Grand Forks organizations will receive grants through its Helping Housing Across North Dakota, the Helping Hand program.
“Helping HAND ensures that homes are safe and habitable for North Dakotans of modest means,” said Brandon Dettlaff, NDHFA executive director.
Red River Valley Community Action, Grand Forks will get $30,882. Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity, Grand Forks will receive $4,000.
Helping HAND grants address the needs of households with incomes that do not exceed 80 percent of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s median for the county in which the property is located. Grant recipients must provide a local match of 25 percent to access the program dollars.
“Through Helping HAND, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency has provided over $7.1 million in grants that has leveraged more than $50 million and helped over 8,200 lower-income individuals and families across the state,” said Brandon Dettlaff, NDHFA executive director. “Roof replacement is the most common rehab project.”
