(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Administrator Todd Feland updated the city council on the progress of the proposed Altru Sports Complex.

He says that the team working on the proposed center is listening to Grand Forks City Council.

“If there are some things you want studied, we’ve listened, we’ve heard, and we followed up with trying to get better information back to you,” Feland told Grand Forks City Council this week.

Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski thanked all of those who are involved in the process of the planned sports facility.

“Not only this council, but past councils, it’s been two years in the process. You know the amount of input has really led to a professional, well-thought-out process, specifically with the consultant team as well,” Bochenski said.

“At the end of the day we’ve got to make a decision with the best information we have. I trust that the city administration, city council will do that,” Feland said.

Mayor Bochenski says a lot has been accomplished so far when it comes to making the proposed facility a reality.

“Some of the process we’ve gone through to get here- the feasibility study, the successful sales tax vote, roughly a year ago, operations and programing review, the architect selection, working with the bond counsel,” Bochenski said.
