(KNOX) – The investigation into the wire fraud at Grand Forks Public Schools remains open and active.
In late September, the Mark Sanford Education Center filed a complaint for more than $2.2 million…and said that no data from Grand Forks Public Schools was exposed during the incident.
Grand Forks Police Lieutenant Andrew Stein told KNOX News that the focus right now is on recovering about half of the money. That amount is being determined by detectives, financial institutions and assisting agencies.
A suspect has not been named for the crime.
