(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission approved a reconfiguration of lots at Columbia Park at 1970 South Columbia Road.

Haylie Grasser, city planner, says that the purpose of the request is to separate the lot into two for future tenants of the former Vinyl Taco location.

“They will be reestablishing right of way, the ten-foot utility on the Northern side,” Grasser told the commission.

The new lot line follows a building wall separation between the connected structure.  The separation has been reviewed by the City of Grand Forks Building Inspections staff and meets necessary building code requirements for establishing a lot line through the structure.

“Straightening this out will make the northern lot just a smidge bigger, but it is mostly utility easements on that lot, so they will be able to work around that,” Grasser said.

The Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission met Wednesday.
